About Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS)

The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS), is an Indian Progressive Service Society, located in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh is a registered non-governmental voluntary organization established in 1978. BASS seeks to improve the livelihoods of children, youth, women and vulnerable people, those who are at the highest risk due to challenging social-economic conditions. BASS works to bring relief and opportunity to rural and urban communities negatively impacted by poverty and specially to improve the quality of life of children to become good human beings by having access to the right kind of education. BASS is working for the social, educational, health care, economic development and emergency relief and rehabilitation of the poor specially for the Scheduled caste (SC), the Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Backward communities, irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. BASS is committed to people's participatory development processes. People concerned and affected are involved in the entire process of project identification, development, execution, monitoring and evaluation. Projects adopt a bottom up approach and are evolved at the community level.

Mr Chukka Peter Paul is an experienced social worker from Guntur has been founded the BASS in 1978 with an aim to serve people in need. He is continuously working for the BASS as honorary President and get collaborations with government and international organisations.

Child Education

The Department of Education of Andhra Pradesh now recognizes BASS Schools as credentialed through the seventh class, in both Telugu and English.

Vocational Training

We prepares people to work as a technician or in various jobs such as a tradesman or an artisan. Vocational education is sometimes referred to as career and technical education

Children Homes for Girls

We call it an integrated home because we take care of children of all needs such as physical limitations and cognitive limitations along with so-called normal children.

COVID-19 Healthcare

BASS is in close coordination with the Volunteer and has stepped in to provide relief by providing food to thousands of people across the State.

Community Health Care

Parent committees have formed to work together to guide staff regarding the needs of the children and their families, and for general community organizing.

Child Labour

BASS is now a recognized collaborator with the National Child Labor Project. Through the project, 50 out-of-schoolchildren, ages 9 to 14,

BASS is having 28 qualified skilled staff members and 20 volunteers implementing all the programs of BASS. BASS is also having a good office building at Guntur city and a field office at Gopalapuram for regular ongoing programs. The chief Coordinator of BASS Mr. Joseph Anthony is having a Diploma on Community Based Development 2004 from Coady International Institute, St. Francis Xavier University Canada and also specialized in How to Eradicate Child Labor. He is the key active executive officer of the BASS to plan, execute all the projects with the guidance of President, Executive board, staff and all the targeted communities. BASS is having experienced team of Medical Doctors and health staff involved in all the health educational camps.
